Katie & Danny Vogler – Wine Country Gardens – Defiance, MO

On Saturday, September 17, Downtime had the pleasure of providing all of Katie and Danny’s music needs for their special day. Beginning outdoors on the lower terrace, the string trio provided classics requested by the bride and groom for their ceremony. Guests then moved to an upper terrace where the jazz trio provided music for the cocktail hour, before heading indoors to enjoy dinner. As dinner concluded, Downtime’s eight piece band kicked off with Katie and Danny’s first dance, “Wonderful Tonight.” By enhancing their experience with Downtime’s continuous play option, guests enjoyed two non-stop hours of dancing before ending the night with “Don’t Stop Believing.”

Joe & Jill Mathieu – Forest Hills Country Club – Chesterfield, MO

On September 17, Downtime was honored to provide all of Joe and Jill’s music needs for their wedding day at Forest Hills Country Club in Chesterfield, MO. The evening began with a solo pianist for their intimate ceremony in the Ballroom, followed by mingling and cocktails in the Primrose Room with music by Downtime’s jazz trio. Once guests moved back into the transformed Ballroom, the solo pianist continued until the bride and groom shared their first dance to Dave Matthews’ “You & Me”. Then, Downtime’s eight piece band kicked in and the dance floor was packed until the end.

Jill put it simply, saying “The band was amazing! I wish I would have had more time to dance!”

Cindy & Jake Frazier – Coronado Ballroom – St. Louis

On Saturday, September 10, Downtime was honored to play at Cindy and Jake’s wedding reception at the Coronado Ballroom. As guests arrived and mingled in the Grand Lobby, they enjoyed Downtime’s solo pianist. Guests then moved into the transformed North Ballroom with specialty uplighting provided by Millennium Productions, and the jazz trio began and played through dinner. As dinner concluded, Downtime’s eight piece band took the stage and led the night with the bride and groom’s first dance to “Lucky”. Cindy and Jake’s guests loved Downtime and danced all night! With a packed dance floor, the night ended with “Don’t Stop Believing” before sending the bride and groom off in style with a sparkler send off.

Thank you, as always to Jaci Burgess and the entire staff at the Coronado – they definitely make the night enjoyable and are a breeze to work with! And a special thank you to Mr. & Mrs. Frazier – you were both so much fun and we loved working with you!

Michelle & Matthew Schwerin – Hilton St. Louis Frontenac – St. Louis

On Saturday, September 10, Downtime had the pleasure of playing at Matthew and Michelle’s wedding reception at the Hilton St. Louis Frontenac. As the guests arrived for the cocktail hour in the Clayton Ballroom, Downtime’s jazz trio played. Once guests moved into the ballroom for dinner, the jazz trio continued until the bride and groom shared their first dance to “Unforgettable”. Then, Downtime’s seven piece band kicked in and the dance floor was packed up until midnight, ending with Donna Summer’s “Last Dance”.

The band also extends a huge thank you to Bradley Baker at Contemporary Productions for booking this event and to Sabrina Torti at Proposing Dreams for coordinating a flawless event!

Mandy & Dave McDermott – Peoria, IL

On Sunday September 4, Downtime traveled to the Mt. Hawley Country Club in Peoria, Illinois and saw a lot of familiar faces! The band had played at this country club in 2008 for the wedding reception of Katy Dondaville. Now Downtime was playing for Katy’s sister Mandy’s wedding reception! Downtime was honored to be a part of two family weddings.

Mandy, and her new husband Dave, had hired Downtime’s 7-piece band. The band left early on Sunday morning in order to make it on time. Mandy and Dave had their ceremony and their reception in the same place and Downtime provided all of the music. The band’s solo pianist played for the ceremony, the jazz trio performed for the cocktail reception, the solo piano player returned for the dinner hour and then the party began with the full band! The newlyweds danced to Jack Johnson’s “Better Together” and then Downtime kicked the party off. The guests kept the dance floor packed until the very last song.

Thank you to the Dondanville and McDermott family for making Downtime feel so welcome and congratulations to Mandy and Dave!

John & Abbey Klevorn – World’s Fair Pavilion

The 1904 World’s Fair brought St. Louis new landmarks, new visitors and the honor of being the birthplace of the ice cream cone! Over 100 years later, the World’s Fair Pavilion serves as a reminder of the huge fair our city hosted, and as a beautiful place for couples to marry. One such wedding reception took place on Friday, September 2nd, 2011 with John and Abbey Klevorn.

After the ceremony, the guests were ready to celebrate. John and Abbey hired Downtime’s jazz trio to provide music for a cocktail reception and for dinner. After the meal was over, the guests moved to the open terrace in front of the fountain where they discovered Downtime’s 8-piece band was ready to help them party! The bride and groom chose Tim McGraw’s “My Best Friend” as their first dance, and the dance floor filled up as soon as they were done. The party lasted until midnight and everyone in attendance had a great time!

Nicholas & Marina Sigmund – Meadowbrook Country Club

Downtime was in Ballwin, Missouri at Meadowbrook Country Club on September 3rd to perform for Nicholas and Marina Sigmund’s wedding reception. The band’s jazz trio began the evening by playing while the wedding guests ate dinner. When the meal ended, the happy couple danced for the first time as man and wife to John Lennon’s “Woman.” Then, the party went into full swing! With the dance floor full, a special guest arrived on stage. The bride’s father, Sal Ferranto, had been a performer in a wedding band and sang “Celebration” with Downtime. What a celebration it was!

Downtime wants to thank you to Elana Hertel and the entire Meadowbrook staff for always making the band feel very welcome!

Ryan & Melissa Hill – City Museum – St. Louis

On Saturday, August 27, Ryan and Melissa Hill tied the knot and celebrated their very special day at the City Museum. With a venue like that, guests knew this would not be an ordinary reception! City Museum has a reputation for being St. Louis’ most eclectic venue.The couple requested Downtime’s piano player for their guests during cocktail hour and for dinner entertainment. Downtime set up as a 7-piece band on the third floor in an area known as “Architecture Hall.” Once the band began to play, the dance floor remained packed for three straight hours. Downtime dedicated their last song of the night to Ryan and Melissa: “Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I’m Yours.”

Lisa & Mark Pratzel – Lumen Private Event Space

On Saturday, August 6th, Downtime had the pleasure of playing at Lisa and Mark Pratzel’s wedding reception. The reception, held at the beautiful Lumen Private Event Space, was quite a party! When the guests arrived at Lumen, Downtime’s jazz trio (consisting of sax, piano and bass) played as everyone enjoyed a cocktail reception. When the bridal party arrived, the bride and groom were introduced as the band played “You Are The Best Thing,” and Mark and Lisa immediately cut the cake. They danced their first dance to Ben Harper’s “Forever.” The jazz trio returned to playing during dinner, and Downtime kicked the party off after dinner and kept the dancing going all night!

Lisa e-mailed the band to thank them and wrote: “You guys kept everybody up and dancing the entire night—exactly what we wanted!”
Special thanks to Sarah Sordo and the wonderful staff at Lumen for everything. Lumen’s 600 guest event space is always a pleasure to play due to the location, gorgeous space and the people who work there.

Ben & Morgan Costello – Jefferson City, MO

On Saturday, July 23rd, Downtime hit the road and headed to Jefferson City, Missouri to provide music for Ben and Morgan Costello’s wedding reception. Ben and Morgan chose to have their reception at the gorgeous Capitol Plaza Hotel located in the heart of the city. The bride and groom’s guests were ready to party as soon as they entered through the ballroom doors!. The band’s jazz trio provided dinner music, and Downtime’s 8-piece band started the celebration with “Fly Me To The Moon,” the couple’s first dance as husband and wife. The rest of the night, Downtime played songs from every genre of music imaginable as the crowd danced and begged for more.

The band would like to thank Sacha from Whimsical Weddings & Events for all of their help with this event.
